Christy Knudson is a Cinematographer and 1st AC based out of Los Angeles, California. She was born in raised in Walnut Creek, CA and studied at Santa Barbara City College before moving to Los Angeles to further pursue a career in film production.

Where The Sand Meets The Sea

Christy’s journey as a filmmaker is encapsulated in her first film, Where The Sand Meets The Sea. As the writer, director, director of photography, editor, and colorist of this film, she pushed myself as a filmmaker in all aspects to tell a story of familial love and sacrifice, set in a post apocalyptic desert wasteland.

Soft Premieres

The SBCC Film awards cut took home Best Editing and Best Cinematography award to Christy, as well as an outstanding achievement award from her professor Curtis Bieber. The SBCC Film Awards is a highly anticipated end of the year celebration, where SBCC Film Students get a chance to present their work, and gather awards given by their professors. She was able to take home the “Best Editing”, “Best Cinematography”, and “Outstanding achievement awards for my directoral debute film.

Following that, at UCSB’s Reel Loud, a 7-minute no dialogue cut was premiered alongside an original score composed by Diego Ratto live with our musicians. Diego won “Best Music”, and our lead, Thomas Asturias, took home “Best Actor.” Overall - the film won the Scott Wells Golden Reel Award as well.
